How do you replace a piece of missing vinyl siding. Hold the removed segment up to a spare piece of vinyl siding. When replacing siding try to purchase a piece from the same manufacturer in the same color. Use a cat s paw or other small pry bar to pull the nails from the course you need to remove. Measure and mark a point 2 inches 5 1 cm away from each side of the removed segment.

Be careful because older siding can become brittle. Look for a horizontal seam between two courses of vinyl siding. Use framing square and utility knife to cut through face of siding. It ll better match the house than brand new siding.
